Madam name or maiden name

What is the term used for a woman who retains her name after marriage? For example, Mary Tan’s husband is John Koh. But she refers to herself as Mdm Mary Tan. (Tan and Koh are their surnames.)

Where I live, Mdm (Mdm is the abbreviation of Madam) is often used before a married woman’s name.

Can it be said she is using her madam name or maiden name? If neither is correct, what is the correct term?

Thanks.

In English the term is “maiden name”. Mrs. Mary Tan still uses her maiden name.

Thanks, Luschen.

Do native speakers use Mdm before their names, like Mdm Mary Tan? Where I live, this is the ‘standard’ way.

Only my kids’ French teachers. Madam and Mademoiselle are French terms for Mrs and Miss
