Low price or cheap price?

Which is correct: low price, cheap price?

Thanks.

Low price

You will hear people say ā€˜cheap price’, but it’s redundant since cheap means low price. So it’s like saying low price price.

Low price is more suitable and formal than cheap price though both the terms are commonly used.
Low price tends to sound as being compared while cheap indicates the general nature of low price.
It is redundant as NearlyNapping has observed.

I agree with both of you.

It’s a bit like ā€œhot temperaturesā€ which has turned into a popular phrase althought strictly speaking it should be ā€œhigh temperaturesā€.

Hi Torsten, you’re back. I’ve really missed you. Now, I was about to suggest the same.
