i think that long term describe Dimension of the time
and long range describe the Dimension of the place

e.g i have exam but in the long term (describe the time)

i will go to the long range (describe the place)

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
i donnot know if my answer is right

These two phrases are quite commonly used in the U.S., especially in business discussions, and both refer to a time span that is not necessarily exact. Sometimes they are interchangeable, but typically, long term refers to some measured span of time that may be recorded or reported for the use of that data. Long range refers to a less precisely defined span of time, especially the idea of looking to the future with no exact end in mind. Examples:

The long term effects are significant, based on scientific research.
Our long range plans are flexible and depend on market response.

Long term is generly used for reporting or stating fact when time period is fixed or know.
e.g. Writing a reasearch paper is long term process.

Long range is used while predicting future action.

e.g. Long range goal of our company is expanding our business all over the world.

Plez, correct me if I am wrong

I’d hyphenate both phrases since they’re compound adjectives:

  • The long-term goal of Safford’s of Nashville is to promote canine veracity.

  • The sniper lined up the sight for his long-range target.

The nouns being described are ā€œgoalā€ and ā€œtargetā€.

Without the hyphen the meanings of the above sentences could be:

  • The long term goal (what is a term goal?)…
  • …long range target (what is a range target?).

The hyphen binds the two words together into one incontrovertible compound adjective so that nobody will think that only the first word is acting as an adjective.

good writing

Thank you very much for all the answers

ā€˜Long range’ is to have a spread out effect or view whereas ā€˜long term’ definitely refers to time. Best of luck nanucbe
