Liam Neeson puzzles me a bit in Taken 2009/ Please shed some light onto this, please

One of his lines is as follows:

  • I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills.

==> are a very particular set of skills/ Is this grammatically correct? I would say: …but what I do have is a very particular set of skills.

I agree, ‘a set of’ is usually treated as singular similar to ‘a specific skill set’.
