“Launch” and “Roll Out”

Is there a difference between “Launch” and “Roll Out” when they are used to convey the meaning of “on sale”?
For example,
The company rolled out a new high-end car and optimized its production line for all of its middle-range and high-end vehicles in 2010. Does “roll out” make sense here?

I reckon “to roll out” is more informal. Other than that they would mean the exact same thing in the context of your sentence.

Broadly they both mean that something is being produced, presumably for sale. For me the idea behind ‘roll out’ is that something is being produced on a large scale, a sort of mass production. ‘Launch’ with its connection with ships and rockets would indicate that something is being introduced for the first time.

The company rolled out on average 100 cars a week over the last year at its new factory.
The company launched its first electric car on Thursday at an event organised in the town centre.
