    Are both sentences - one with infinitive and other with gerund correct?

She is good at swimming.

As per your statement, I should not add either infinitive or gerund after the verb ‘know’.
Am I correct?

People are saying that the following sentence is not fine:

  1. “I went to the window to know what was happening outside.”
    Is it so?
    They say it should be as below:
  2. “I went to the window to find out what was happening outside.”
    Is the following not OK?
  3. “I went to the window to get to know what was happening outside.”
    Please comment.

‘Find out’ is traditionally correct. However ‘know’ (in the sense of ‘see’) would be accepted by native English speakers.

“I wanted to know (see) what was happening outside, so I went to the window.”
