It was a real expedition

Hello everyone,

In the 1964 movie Mission to Venice Michael at 43.08 tells Giuseppe to follow two men:

“The man near the picture and the one that’s eating over there at the bar.”

At 45.15 Michael asks Giuseppe, “Did you follow the one in the white suit?” and he answers, “Yes, yes, but it was a real expedition.” In a few moments (at 45.26) he adds, “They have a regular gang. They live in a palace, a real fortress.”

What does Giuseppe mean by saying “it was a real expedition”?

Thank you.

Hi Klpno,

‘a real expedition’, because, I think, he was searching for something/ someone for a reason.
