It was a break with the past

Hello teachers,
The students have the question, but not the answer. It is for a written exercise not a listening one.
Could you check this question and answer according to the given paragraph?
Context:
[color=blue]The arrival after the 1940s of large numbers of immigrants from Third World countries … was a break with the past.
What was the result after the advent of the aliens of the forties?
It was a break with the past.

Can I use ‘advent’ instead of ‘arrival’ in this case in the question?

Thanks in advance

I dislike that wording intensely. The vocabulary you have chosen sounds awkward and unnatural.

Hello Beeesneees,
Thank you for your reply and help.
How about this one?
What was the result after the advent of the immigrants of the forties?
It was a break with the past.
Do you think the word ‘foreigners’ is interchangeable with ‘immigrants’ for the question?

Hello Beeesneees,
I think this one is better, isn’t it?
What was the result after the arrival of the immigrants of the forties?

RtL

Better, but far from great. Possibly:
What came about because of the arrival of the immigrants in the forties?

Hello Beeesneees,
Thank you for your help!
It is a great one. I didn’t understand ‘what came about’, but now I do, it means ‘What took place/happened’, doesn’t it?
And the answer is ‘A break with the past’.
