Let’s hope and wish that the suspect will be arrested soon.
Is “wish” correctly used?
Thanks.

That is an awkward use of the word ‘wish’. I would leave it out.
Hope and wish have different meanings, but they are close enough in meaning that it almost sounds redundant.
‘Hope’ has more of a positive and realistic feel to it.
‘Wish’ has more of a fantasy feel. It is usually not realistic.
I can run a kilometer in 5 minutes. I hope to do it in 4 minutes and 30 seconds within a year.
My friend flew to Hawaii for vacation. I wish I was there.
In the first sentence there is a realistic hope of achieving their goal. In the second sentence, they are stating that they would like to be in Hawaii, but there is no realistic expectation of it happening.

We wish the suspect were/was arrested soon!
‘Wish’ can also mean ‘to want to do something’. E.g.: ‘I wish to make a complaint.’
