thank you very much

have a nice day

Good morning Frank.

“My mother is in the kitchen cooking dinner.” Yes, it is grammatically correct.

You could also say, “My mother is cooking dinner in the kitchen.”

“My mother is going into the kitchen to cook dinner.”

The first sentence tells what your Mother is actually doing. The second describes what she intends to do.

Hi Kitos,

Albeit both sentences don´t sound pretty usual to me, I wonder whether the second one could´nt be changed to: My mother remains in the kitchen in order to cook dinner.

Michael

Morning Michael. I don’t really think so.

“In order” is OK, but “remains” is completely out of context.

Hi Kitos,
I totally agree with you, ‘remains’ sounds like it is a default place for ‘my mother’.

Good morning Genius. Clever and beautiful … what a combination!

In the kitchen is my default place at the moment, peeling potatoes for lunch.

Kitos.

Dear women´s libbers,

I didn´t intend to suggest the kitchen as mother´s default place in general. But where else could she prepare the lunch and cook it…unless she had planned a BBQ…on which certainly father´s default place was in front of the grill (not upon)

Michael

Please note the spelling of the word ‘grammatical’. Also, I would rephrase your question like this: ‘Is the following sentence grammatically correct’?[YSaerTTEW443543]

TOEIC listening, talks: Airport employee is announcing flight delays through loudspeaker system[YSaerTTEW443543]

i want to know what should we write if dinner is over:is it correct?:

i have already taken dinner.

or

i have already done dinner.

“I have / I’ve already had dinner.”

In conversation the contraction “I’ve” would normally be used.

Note that the word “I” is always capitalised.
