The expert added, “Is she going to reveal who was the royal racist? Is she going to divulge real information? That’s what it will take for the book to work.”

Shouldn’t it be “Is she going to reveal who the royal racist was” instead?

Yes it should.

I also prefer “racist royal” instead of “royal racist”.
Opinions or insubstantial modifiers should precede factual.

Yes, the syntax is incorrect for the reason that there cannot be two questions in a single sentence. So, it should be corrected as you suggest, @Kohyoongliat.
