Is it really correct to say "the most current version"?

I work in IT and have come across with such expressions as:
the most current version of the program
most current version of the program

the most latest version of the program
most latest version of the program

Is it really correct to say either of these?
I have thought the right way would be the current version and the latest version, most must be unnecessary here.

And what is the difference between the most current and most current. In which situation would you use either of them?

Thanks in advance for your reply. Would be really nice to get some advice.

Hi Domles,

I agree that ā€˜most’ with the adjectives you have used is not really necessary and certainly ā€˜most latest’ isn’t acceptable. I would suggest that you said something like - (the) most up-to-date, which conveys the idea of most recent, latest.

Dear Alan,

Thank you so much for the reply! The ā€œmost up-to-dateā€ expression really must be suitable here, anyway sounds nice
Do you think there is a certain difference between ā€œmost up-to-dateā€ and ā€œthe most up-to-dateā€, I mean is the usage of the article defined by any rule or situation?

Thanks
