According to me, retirement means you no longer have to work for money.
Is “According to me” grammatical? Shouldn’t it be “In my opinion”?
Thanks.

Grammatical or not, I’ve only ever heard “according to” when referencing another source, such as “according to Hoyle”.
In my opinion, “In my opinion” would be much better,
I think nobody says ‘according to me’.
You are right, @Kohyoongliat.
To be frank, until about 10 years ago I used to use the phrase. I corrected myself on being advised by none other than our @Alan, whom I remember with grateful thanks whenever I happen to hear this incorrect usage!
We may use phrases like To me, In my opinion, As far as I understand, In my view, etc.
I think there is a very limited use of “according to me” when you are responding in an argumentative manner to someone who has used “according to”.
A: According to Hoyle, Oprah and Plato, that’s a bad idea.
B: Well, according to me it’s a good idea.
B: That’s a stupid idea.
A: According to whom?
B: According to me!
