involve vs are involved

Hi everyone.

I’m not sure which following sentences are correct to use.

  1. There are 7 persons involve in this fire investigation.
  2. There are 7 person are involved in this fire investigation.

I’m confused how to use ‘involve’, when it can act as verb or adjective. Could somebody here help me to figure it up. Thanks in advance…

I’d say:

There are seven persons involved in this fire investigation.
Seven people are invloved in this fire investigation.
This fire investigation involves seven people.

Also, you must mean “help me figure it out”. =)

Both are incorrect. Haha.
Thanks for your answer…

Yes, that’s what I want to say… my bad. :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks again… I really appreciate everything you’ve done to help me.

Somebody please me. Although Our Tort System has given an example to help me understanding the differences in using word ‘involve’ and ‘involved’, I still feel confused.

My questions are as following:

1.There are seven persons involved in this fire investigation.
Is the word ‘involved’ act as a verb in passive sentence?

2.Seven people are involved in this fire investigation.
Is the word ‘involved’ act as an adjective in passive sentence?

3.This fire investigation involves seven people.
Is the word ‘involve’ act as a verb in active sentence?
