The reading passage and professor both discuss the topic of the archaeology problems in Britain. However, the professor disagrees with the viewpoint presented in the reading passage that states old cultural artifacts were faced with serious problems and limitations in Britain. He thinks that new guidelines and rules which were made in 1990 help to preserve the artifacts. As a result, the lecturer provides several reasons to refute the idea in the reading materials.

In the first place, the professor states builders and the government are both make plans to preserve artifacts, which questions the aspect that the builders often uncovered archaeologically valuable sites shown in the reading passage. In the professor's opinion, the constructor will follow the rules to examine their construction sites to make sure whether there are archaeology values or interests before they proceed with the construction. This idea does not consist with the idea in the reading.

In the second place, the professor goes further the make a point that the pay for examination and preservation are paid by construction companies not from the government. This perspective gives different explanations from the passage because a far greater range of examination and preservation have been done than before. The prospect also casts doubts on the idea that the financial support for archaeological research was inadequate.

Finally, the professor is opposed to the writer's standpoint by highlighting that the number of archaeologists was increase because every stage of the research process needs experts. While the article indicates it was difficult to have a career in archaeology, the speaker points out the new guidelines increase jobs and career opportunities in the field of archaeology.

In conclusion, the evidence provided illustrates that the professor refuses the points made in reading materials. He believes that new guidelines and rules change the whole field of archaeology. The old cultural artifacts are not endangered.
