Similar words, but different in meaning.
If you have a surprising look, you look astonishing, unusual to other people – you have a look that surprises others (others will be surprised by you).
Whereas if you have a surprised look, you are yourself astonished or have been unexpectedly shocked by something (others are not necessarily surprised by you).
