Please explain what the word ‘indulge’ means in the above sentences? Please don’t tell me to look up the dictionary again. I hardly ask any question which can be answered simply by looking referring to a dictionary

This one can.
oxfordlearnersdictionaries.c … ?q=indulge

But which definition? 1 or 2? Hardly makes any sense to me.

Look at the examples too. They can help understanding.

  1. likely to be definition 1, but without more context than a single sentence it’s not possible to say.
  2. Definition 3
  3. Definition 4

Go on - indulge yourself by giving your own explanation. Be independent

Transparent as glass…

Thank you, ma’am

Dear Teacher, is the word a noun or a verb?

Thanks.

I intended it to be a noun:
the ability to understand something; comprehension.
