'In my computer' or 'on my computer'?

Hi,

I need software to be installed in my desktop.
I need software to be installed on my desktop.

Could you please choose the correct one with justification?

Regards,
William

in = inside It is not appropriate here.
desktop = the top of a desk.

This would improve matters:
I need software installed on my desktop computer.

Could you please improve the subject lines of your topics.
I’ve edited it to make it relevant.

Thank you . I will mention appropriate subject since next post.

Beeesneees,

  1. I need software to be installed on my desktop computer.
  2. I need software installed on my desktop computer.
What is the difference in meaning between the two sentences?
    Is #1 sentence wrong?
    Thanks.

It’s not wrong, but it’s not an option which flows well and it is not required in most situations.
