I am not sure when to use “important for” vs “important to”.
Your help is greatly appreciated
You want to use “important to” when you give an explanation of who it’s important to or why it’s important.
For example:
“Brushing your teeth is important.” - In this sentence I’m stating a fact/opinion, but I’m not giving you a reason.
“Brushing your teeth is important to prevent cavities.” - In that one I also provide additional information.
I have also noticed that “it’s important to” is commonly used in “why?” questions.
“why is it important to __________?”
Hope that helps a little.
Thank u for the tips.
