IELTS Task 2 - In what ways has technology affected people's relationships

“Nowadays the way many people interact with each other has changed because of technology.
In what ways has technology affected the types of relationships people make?
Has this become a positive or negative development?”

Nowadays, development of science and technology has impacted considerably the ways people interact with each other, especially these of exchange information, meeting, and participating in courses. In my opinion, it is generally a positive development for human.
Firstly, nothing could be further from the truth that cell phone is a great invention because benefits of providing and exchanging information between people. For example, parents always worry about their kids when they are far from home. Parents wonder what they are doing, where they are going or something dangerous could happen to them. However, nervous feelings of parents will be removed effectively if they give their children cell phones and guide them how to use proficiently. This is because using cell phones allows parents to keep contact, as well as exchange information with their children almost every time, everywhere.
In the second place, technological development has changed the way people meet each other when it spreads the Internet over the world and provides available media applications some of which are extremely popular such as Facebook, Skype. Instead of arranging schedules to make appointments with friends at certain positions, people could connect “face to face” with their friends on Skype easily if they do not have much spare time. This actually results in saving time for each people.
Last but not least, people have more selections for studying through development of media. In fact, electronic library (e-library) has become new increasing trend at many educational institutions, especially at academies and universities. This encourages students to study, research, and discuss themselves in small groups more actively, reducing time of passive learning in which students only concentrate on what their professors indicate. Many universities even go far when they suggests online courses suitable for wide range of students which allow these students to do not go to class, only receiving lectures, and sending homework on individual emails. This results in decreasing time and cost of studying for many students.
In conclusion, it cannot be denied that technological development brings a lot of advantages to human-life. It has affected changes in not only exchanging information, meeting, but also taking part in courses tremendously and more positively.
