I'd like to know the part of speech of "what".

This is from bible corinthians3:21

No one, then, should boast about “what” human beings can do.

I’m waiting for your kind reply.

(1) Until one of the language professionals answers, may I start?

(2) My favorite grammar book says that “what” in that kind of

sentence is an indefinite relative pronoun.

(3) That is, your sentence means something like:

No one, then, should boast about THAT WHICH human beings can

do.

Respectfully yours,

James

Thank you very much James.

You are very welcome. Thank you for your kind and

courteous note.

James
