I was being shown around the museum vs. They were showing me around the museum

“I was being shown around the museum when I met Penny”.

Is it correct to say “They were showing me around the museum when I met Penny”?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings.

Both have the same meaning and are correct. The second sentence is more common and easier to read.

Both are fine. The first one is the passive form and the second is the active form.
