I want to marry her

Hello Mentors,

I am just confused with WITH in these sentences.

I want to marry with her.
I want to marry her.

I want to meet with her.
I want to meet her.

Please help me.
Thank you in advance;)

[color=red]I want to marry with her. There is no common expression ‘to marry with’. Googling that one, I see many “I want to marry with a Canadian girl…” etc. in Yahoo Answers-type sites; but this is not correct English. It would simply be, [color=indigo]“I want to marry a Canadian girl…”
The only instance where it might feasibly be used is if some blond, blue-eyed man said, [color=indigo]“I want to marry with a blond, blue-eyed woman, so that my children will be the same.” (I’m not sure whether, genetically, that is sure to happen…)

[color=red]I want to marry her. Yes.

[color=red] I want to meet with her. You meet ‘with someone’ for a purpose e.g. [color=indigo]I want to meet with her to discuss the upcoming merger…
[color=red]I want to meet her. Yes. Most girls would like to meet Brad Pitt. A man might see a very attractive girl at a function of some sort, and ‘want to meet her’, become known to her, and get to know her.

Good answer, but I don’t think this particular point is feasible even in the example mentioned. It would still be ‘I want to marry…’ or ‘I want to get married to…’

Thank you so much for clear explanation Bazza and Beeesneees.

Strictly speaking, one does not marry the woman of his dreans; he stands with her before a pastor (or other authorized person) and the pastor marries them together. It’s like a welder joiing two pieces of iron; the piecesare then welded together, but you don’t envision one piece of iron welding another.

But people hane been misusing the verb “to marry” for so log that it has become accepted except in very formal writing.

“Excuse me, m’an, we’ve never been introduced, but you look remarkably like my next ex-wife…”

Hello Thomas,

I 've never seen this word drean (n). Could you please to explain to us.
I found only one in the Merrian-Webster:

drean \ˈdrēn\

Definition of DREAN
