I tell my father my problems

  1. I confide my problems to my father.
  2. I confide in my father my problems.

Are both sentences correct?

Thanks.

I don’t think “confide” is the correct verb for this purpose. I would phrase the sentence as follows:

I tell my father my problems.

Confide is not necessarily the wrong verb. It has a different meaning than “tell”.

Confide
Confidence
Confidential
Confidant

It means to tell confidentially, or in confidence. It’s usually in the context of something personal and private.

The preposition is usually “in” ( To confide in ).

I would go with:
I confide in my father about my problems.
