Greetings all
i started on “GRE: Practicing to Take the General Test 10th edition” a couple of days ago hoping to get a feel of the verbal-typed questions in GRE… Sadly, I was really struggling through it… I spent 2-3 minutes on each question and reckon i got about 1 right in every 8 questions… I have no idea what most words mean and mostly made educated guesses…
Reviews from online sources (particularly amazon and forums) deem the book as too easy and particularly outdated… If im struggling through a book deemed too easy by most, im reckon im in big trouble… Im planning to focus bulk of my attention on word lists in preparing for the verbal section… Please advice me on my situation…
Cheers
Thanks and regards
That book is relatively easy…however I did nto realise it till last 2 weeks when I took the test…I was averaging in the high 600s on verbal and only came up to 540 on the actual test…I was livid…
With that book analogies the sentence comp. were the easiet for me, but the actually test was reversed…the SC WERE TOUGH…and I mean the first question had me starring at the screen and blanked out…
The rc which were hardes for me usually were easiest, but because it too so much time coming up with other staff…I got completely thrown of fmy balance…
Also people may come on here an say the GRE is easy…if so good for them…but hte GRE is not designed to be easy or hard…just how well you can test and some people just dont test well…
As I went through the book, the questions noted as easy were hard for me and the hard questions were easy for me…different brains, different functions and stregths…so whatever it is they are testing,I wish them luck
Sorry but no time to read over…so enjoy the spelling mistakes…
