I have done the work. vs I have the work done.

Hi everybody,

I think all are busy with various jobs and that is why communication now a days found very less.

Somewhere I have read that

I have done the work.
I have the work done.

The difference in the meaning of the above sentences narrated as

The work has been done by myself i.e. I have done the work.
&
The work has been done by otherselves, but that has been done under my control/suggestion/advise - i.e. I have the work done.

Any more suggestions from all of my colleagues are awaited in this regard.

Thanks,
Msudan

Please try to rewrite this sentence making it simpler and using phrases you are familiar with.

The work has been done by others. (Where did you learn the word ‘otherselves’? It seems you have created it yourself.

Also, please check the difference between ‘advice’ and ‘advise’.

Again, you can improve your written English if you make your sentences shorter and use phrases you have read or heard several times.

Apart from that, your explanation is right and you have understood the difference between both constructions.

Hi Torsten,

otherselves - Mistake happened throgh oversight.

advise - there I should use Noun form “advice” instead advise (verb) as I wrote.

Many thanks for your valuable suggestions.
