I had better vs. I'd rather

Hi!How are you. Thanks for your lessons.Ireally can say that I’ve been improving my english with you and also ,I find it necessary to read as many newspaper’s articles as possible.I also want toask you to tell me the difference between rather and I’ d better.Bye.Thanks again

I would rather – This says what I would prefer to do. I would rather see a movie than go dancing. I would rather eat at home than go out tonight.
I’d better – This says what I think I should do. I’d better leave now if I want to be home before dark.

.
I’d better = it would be a good idea, it would be wiser or more well-advised to; ought to.
I’d rather = I prefer to.
.

Hi!Now I know the difference between those two thanks to you.see you!

Bumping the thread so that I don’t need to make a new one… are there any specific usages for each one of those?

.
Nothing idiomatic that I can think of offhand.
.

Ok thanks Mr!
