Hi,

I am wondering is there any difference between ‘i guess you can only,’ v.s ‘i guess you could only,’ meaning wise? Are they both grammatically correct?

For example,
I guess you can only dream about it.
and
I guess you could only dream about it.

Hi,

The use of ‘could’ makes the possibility of ‘dreaming about’ less likely than the use of ‘can’.
