I don't want and I am reluctant

Hello dear Alan and Torsren! I couldn’t find out the difference between the following expressions: … I don’t want . …and… I am reluctant…
Thank you for your help

Pioneer

Hi Pioneer,

He doesn’t want means he doesn’t wish to do it - that is a fact. He is reluctant means he has thought about it but has decided he is against the idea of doing it.
