'I am chatting to her' or 'I am chatting with her'?

Which one is correct ‘I am chatting to her’ or ‘I am chatting with her’

I think both are correct.
I think it is possible to say:

Chatting to her/chatting with her/chatting away.

I am talking to her/him/you

i believe it is “chat with” and “talk to”

Hi Luby,

There is not a lot of difference between ‘with’ or ‘to’ in this sentence: ‘I am chatting to her’ or ‘I am chatting with her’. The only point I can make is that both are used and acceptable and there is a suggestion (not a very strong one) that ‘with’ is perhaps more intimate/friendly.

Thanks for clearing my doubt.I always use ‘chatting with’ but some people say ‘chatting to’ that’s why I thought I’m wrong!
If ‘with’ is friendly than I could use ‘chatting with’ only as usual.

wow, i just heard that chatting to is also acceptable, I always use chatting with…
