Hello Alan, Mister Micawber, Beeesneees, Mordant, Esl_Expert and other native English speakers,

I hurt for her because I know she hurt for me.

The phrase “hurt for someone” has the same meaning as “feel for someone,” doesn’t it? Is “hurt for someone” quite common?

Yes-- feel their pain, empathize.

Thank you, MM.
