How to use the prepositions 'in' and 'on' in this case?

Dear Teachers,

I was reading a book about psychology concerning the subject of suggestion and
i think that the author should have used the preposition IN instead of FOR in the
following text

“like any other mental effect that depend for its effect upon its appeal
to the emotion, suggestion my be misused”

Thanks for your help

Hello,

You are reading a very interesting book. What is your profession?
As for your question, the preposition should be [color=blue]on.

“like any other mental effect that depend[color=blue]s [color=blue]on its effect upon its appeal
to the emotion, suggestion m[color=blue]ay be misused”

Yes, both prepositions are possible [color=blue]upon as well as [color=blue]on.[YSaerTTEW443543]
