How’s about/How about

  1. How’s about going to Ooty for the day?
  2. How about going to Ooty for the day?
    Are both correct?

#1 is more informal and I don’t think it is grammatically correct, but it would sound fine in everyday conversation. Also, to me, #1 implies more that it is an offer to go together, rather than a request to go alone, but that is probably just my take on it.
