How old is she and what's the point of this phrase?

Hello, everyone.
I’d like to ask a question about the phrase by Chuck Berry.

She’s too cute to be a minute over seventeen.
How old is she - is she exactly 17 or a little more or…? And what’s the point?

She’s probably 17 at the oldest. ‘A minute over’ is an exaggerated form of ‘slightly over’. The point is that she is very young and cute.

Thank you very much, Mister Micawber.

We can’t say here how old she is. She is too cute to be a minute over seventeen. It’s our impression of her. She is so cute that we can’t believe her to be a minute over seventeen. But actually she can be more than seventeen. One of my students is 21 but she looks so cute that you won’t think she is a minute over seventeen.

Probably she is seventeen as MM says. And maybe she 21 but she looks young(not a minute over seventeen).

Thank you very much, Harry Smiith, too.

You are most welcome!
