How many people suffer from the "cross translation syndrom?"

Hi,

Somewhere on the Internet I read that 90% of all adults who want to learn a second language suffer from a so called “cross translation” problem and think they are “language incapable”.

What do you make of this?

Thanks,

Hi,

I am not familiar with this term, but it is for sure that adults do face far greater problems in learning a new language than youngsters.

Hello,

Yes, me too, I sometimes feel like this too. I think that problem is happened mostly with the people who just start to study an international language, such as French or English or else. But for whom who have started for 4-5years, they can handle this better than the beginner… sometimes, we have to study by heart for it, I mean, we try to remember why they use this or that, the structures… and sometimes we can not use our own way…

Thanks.
