How do you pronounce 'odds'?

Hello everyone,

I’d like to know how to pronounce the word ‘odds’? Do you pronounce [d] in [ɔdz]? I listened to a audio file which comtains this word. It seems like that [d] in the word is soundless and odds shoud read [ɔz]. :?

[color=blue]odds = The likelihood of the occurrence of one thing rather than the occurrence of another thing, as in a contest
e.g: [color=brown]The odds are that she will get the nomination on the first ballot.

it can be pronounced as (ódz)

Thank you for you help, Sahid.

Good morning Shi.

You are aware that " odd " is not the singular of odds, and has a completely different meaning .

Odd = peculiar, or strange.

" That’s an odd smell."
" He is an odd kind of person ."

Hope you are keeping well.

I note that you continue to improve. Remarkable progress in such a short space of time. !

Good morning Bill, ( it’s 17:50 here in my area)

Thank you for your detaild explanations, I’ll bear in mind that odds is not the plural(openly, I thought it was) form of odd and they are different in meaning. :slight_smile:

This is how I pronounce it.

Thank you for you voice message, SkiIuck. :slight_smile:
