What do you make of the pronuncation of the word ‘authority’ by this British native speaker?

I don’t think I’ve ever heard it pronounced this way.

If they were to pronounce “authorize” the same way I would have difficulty understanding it.

I haven’t heard it pronounced that way either.
The phonetic transcription is this: /ɔːˈθɒr.ə.ti/ (Cambridge) and [ə-ˈthȯr-ə-tē] (Merriam)

The British pronunciation here has a little more emphasis on the first syllable.

I think I pronounce it in between the British and American pronunciation. I pronounce the ‘u’ but not as strongly as the British.
