How do you interprete this: "I will keep you posted"!

Hey guys,

I had applied for a PhD Position, and after an interview through Skype, the professor sent me an email in which she had written that:

“I will keep you posted as we move along in the admission process. Please don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions.”

I really don’t understand the meaning of the first sentence!! What does the professor mean by “I will keep you posted as …”?! Does it mean that she has accepted me as a member of her research group, and has given me that position?!

You haven’t been offered the position at this point. You are still being considered for the role.
The Professor is indicating that she will keep you informed about the progress of your application.
