How can I learn and memorize new words?

Dear Alan and Torsten! I have difficulties with remembering new english words, especially with words what I meet in articles in newspaper. Probably, you have your own method. It will be very interesting to know this approach.

Hi Pioneer,

As you know there are different ways to learn and internalize new words and phrases. With English being a ‘nonphonetic’ language it is important to hear new words and repeat them as well as to see how they are spelled. So, for example, if you have an audiobook that comes with the tapescript you can listen to the story and at the same time read the text.
