How about 'hair designer'? Is there any same expressions as hairdresser?

Hello,

Usually we call a person who cuts, colors and arragnes people’s hair “a hairdresser”. How about “hair designer”? Is there any same expressions as hairdresser?

I think that ‘hairdresser’ is out of date except for those who prepare e.g. TV personalities backstage. ‘Hair stylist’ is the expected. Perhaps an expensive hair stylist might call himself a ‘hair designer’.
