The pie charts presents statistics about spending on housing, transport, food, health care and other goods and services in Japan and Malaysia in 2010. Overall, residents in both countries tend to spend more on housing, food and other goods and services.
According to the charts, housing accounted for 21% of residents’ spending in Japan, but in Malaysia, this category had 34% of the total spending and stay as the category with largest proportion. In contrast, residents in Japan spent more on other goods and services than Malaysia as it was 29% of Japan citizen’s spending while it was 26% in Malaysia, a difference of 3%. Food occupied a large proportion of total spending in both countries as Japan and Malaysia citizen’s percentage of expenditure on this is 24% and 27%, respectively.
Spending on transport in Japan still accounted for a relatively big proportion of total expenditures as it was 20% yet it was only 10% in Malaysia. Spending on health care was the smallest proportions in both pie chart as it was 6% in Japan and two times lower in Malaysia.
