Could you tell me, please, what does “hell of a scrap” mean? Is it an idiom or what?
The sentence is, for example: “In between is one hell of a scrap between two of the most brilliant prizefighters of 20th century dram”.

this is not an idiom , it means a fierce quarrel or challange between two . however ," on the scrap heap " is an idiom that means , no longer wanted or useless.
