He lives miserly. as well as, lecture

Hi teachers,

  1. He lives miserly.
  2. He lives in a miserly manner.
  3. He lives like a miserly manner.

I think 2 is correct.

“as well as” takes a singular or plural helping verb?

He enjoyed the lecture about/for/in/at the social evil. I think “about” is used.

He gives lecture on the social evil. Correct?

The teacher was offended with/to the students. I think “with”?

Many many thanks in advance.

Right.

Could you give an example of what you mean?

Right. You could also use “on”.

offended by the students

  1. is correct unless you are confusing ‘miserly’ with ‘miserably’, in which case (1) would be correct too.

'the social evil sounds odd to me. Is there only one?
I think these are more likely:
He enjoyed the lecture about social evils.
He lectures on social evils.

The teacher was offended by the students’ actions.

I assume it means a specific one that has already been mentioned.
