Contronyms are pretty rare. They are words that have two opposite meanings, depending on the context.

I think lots of English words can have contradictory meanings. In most cases they are not exactly antonyms but still the meanings are very different. For example, ‘fine’ as an adjective usually has a positive meaning while if used as a noun it’s rather negative at least for the person who has to pay it.
