hasn't come or isn't coming

Hi all,

What are the correct answers from the sentences below:

In the office someone asked me about my friend who doesn’t appear at the office.
Where’s Lisa?

  1. She hasn’t come yet
  2. She isn’t coming yet

Which number is the correct answer?

Thanks a lot,
Rosario

“She has not come yet” is the correct one.Which means she is to come but not here yet. She is not coming yet doesn’t make sense.

Hi Natasha81,
Thanks a lot for the answer.

Regards,
Rosario

For me, yet is never used with present continuous so, the second sentence is absolutely not gramatically correct. However, let me try clarifying a different here with an assumption of removal of yet in the second sentence.
She hasn’t come yet means she is to come but not here yet at the time of speaking.
She isn’t coming seemingly means there is a plan that her coming does not happen and the speaker knows the plan.

If I have understood something wrong, please help me get it sorted out.

Thanks

KK
