grammatical form "to except for"

Hi!

What is the difference between ''excepting for" and “except for” :?:
How do you translate these 2 sentances in french?

Thans in advance for your answers :stuck_out_tongue:
Bye!

Hi azert, and welcome to the forums.

I never use “excepting for”, so that’s the main difference to me. I only use “except for” and I don’t ever hear people use the expression “excepting for”.

If I did hear someone use “excepting for”, I guess I would understand it to mean the same thing as “except for”.

Did you find “excepting for” in a sentence?
.

Actually, an even more interesting question is “what is the difference between except and except for

I remember asking this question ( on this thread: english-test.net/forum/ftopi … html#63981 )
