Hi Hadeer,

Welcome to english-test.net and thanks a lot for your question. You might want to read English adverbs which is a unique story that helps you understand how to use adverbs.

Let me know what you think.

I think that word “testees” in #1 is very unfortunate. It sounds like “testes”. It would be safer to say “test-takers”.

Hi,
What’s the answer for this question:
He could specify the techniques of presenting the material…( communicate).
And please explain it for me, I can’t understand it very well.

Many thanks in advance,
Nessie.

Hi Nessie and Hadeer

Here are my suggestions:

1- Test-takers should answer the questions accurately and clearly.(accuracy)
2- Some of the customs officers went shopping (shop).
3- I got a valuable mobile on my birthday.(value). I think the answer to this question would be (valueable).
4- He could specify the techniques of presenting the material communicatively ( communicate).
.

Hi Amy,
Thanks a lto for your help, but I still can’t understand the last sentence very well. What does ‘presenting the material communicatively’ mean? Could you please specify its meaning?

Hi Nessie

I didn’t write the sentence; I simply provided a grammatically correct solution.
The word ‘communicatively’ is an adverb, the word ‘communicative’ is an adjective, the word ‘communicate’ is a verb – and so on.

Using this adverb would suggest “presenting in a way that communicates”.

I suppose the author of the sentence might have been referring to the fact that some methods of communicating information are more effective than others.
.

It’s a good thing they added the third “e” to “testees”!

(never mind… Jamie beat me to it.)
