BUT
I suspect that native speakers might disagree as to whether both are correct. 8)
(Personally, I think both yes and so are OK in the sentence given. But I also think so works a bit more naturally with a sentence such as “I think he’ll go.” )
They mean the same, and are both correct.
But So is more suitable, it flows better.
