"Girlfriend" or "female friend" or something else?

Hello!
What should I use when I want to emphasize that girl I talk about is my friend, not my girlfriend in the literal sence of that word?
Is “female friend” ok for those situations?

Yes I would use female friend

I think when we use She, we indicate that that’s a female. So, I’d prefer to use emphatic words. For example, we’re just friends, she’s only a friend. And you can say out your girlfriend’s name.:smiley:
