"For my address today I have advisedly chosen the subject..." means

Hi teachers,

  1. “For my address today I have advisedly chosen the subject…” means “For my address today I have carefully chosen the subject…”?

  2. “I can’t adequately thank you.” means “I can’t suitably thank you.”?

  3. “An honorary degree was awarded to him by Oxford University in 1995.” Correct?

  4. “He’s the recipient.” means “He is the person who will receive an award.”?

Many thanks.

Pretty much, yes.

  1. I have chosen it after careful consideration.
  2. I can’t think you enough.
  3. yes
  4. He’s the person who will receive something, but it doesn’t have to be an award.

Thanks - Beeesneees
